LOME ÜNİVERSİTESİ REKTÖRÜ ESENLER’DEKİ “DÖNÜŞÜME” HAYRAN KALDI
Batı Afrika Ülkesi Togo’nun başkenti Lome’de bulunan Lome Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Dr. Adama Mawule Kpodar Esenler’in kentsel dönüşüm modelini yerinde inceledi.
Türkiye’nin en büyük kentsel dönüşüm projesini Belediye Başkanı M. Tevfik Göksu’dan dinleyen ve çok etkilendiğini söyleyen Kpodar, “Şehri tasarlarken geleceği ihmal etmeyen, geleceği oluştururken de geçmişinden ve değerlerinden kopmayan bir şehircilik anlayışı var ortada” dedi. Kpodar, Başkan Göksu’ya iş birliği teklifinde de bulundu.
Togo’daki şehircilik ve habitat merkezini geliştirmek, bu konudaki araştırmalara yardımcı olacak yerleri incelemek amacıyla Türkiye’ye gelen Togo Lome Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Dr. Adama Mawule Kpodar, Esenler Belediyesi Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten Şehir Düşünce Merkezi’ni ziyaret etti. Esenler Belediyesi’nin Türkiye’nin en büyük kentsel dönüşüm projesi ile hayata geçirdiği örnek şehircilik projesini yerinde inceleme fırsatı bulan Kpodar, hayranlığını dile getirdi.
İŞ BİRLİĞİ PROKOLÜ İMZALANACAK
Esenler Belediye Başkanı M. Tevfik Göksu, 15 Temmuz Millet Bahçesi’ni ve Esenler’de hayata geçen Türkiye’nin en büyük kentsel dönüşüm projesiyle kurulan yeni örnek şehri Rektör Kpodar’a anlattı. 15 Temmuz Millet Bahçesi’nde oluşturulan fonksiyonlara ve kurulan yeni şehre hayran kalan Kpodar, Togo Lome Üniversitesi ile Prof. Dr. Sadettin Ökten Şehir Düşünce Merkezi arasında bir işbirliği protokolü yapılmasını ve yürütülen tüm projelerle ilgili ortak bir çalışma birliği oluşturulmasını teklif etti.

Göksu, Esenler’de gerçekleştirilen Türkiye’nin en büyük kentsel dönüşüm projesi ile hayata geçirilen insan odaklı şehircilik konseptini şu sözlerle anlattı:
“Şehrimiz sadece mekândan ibaret değildir. Mekânın bir ruhu vardır. Yaşayan bir organizmadır. Mekânı ruhuyla birlikte tanımlayacak bir şehir oluşturmak istedik. Mekânı oluşturduk ancak sosyal dokusuna asla dokunmadık. Şehirde yaşayanları bu mekânla bütünleştirdik.”

Esenler’de yapılan şehircilik çalışmaları hakkında konuşan Togo Lome Üniversitesi Rektörü Prof. Dr. Adama Mawule Kpodar, “Esenler Belediyesi bir ilçe belediyesi. İlçe belediyesi ayarında bir belediyenin bu kadar büyük bir ufka sahip olması ve bu ufku hayata geçirmesi tam anlamıyla hayranlık verici. Buraya gelirken Esenler Belediyesi’nin şehircilik faaliyetleri hakkında bilgi edinmiştim ancak bu kadarını beklemiyordum. Şehri tasarlarken geleceği ihmal etmeyen, geleceği oluştururken de geçmişinden ve değerlerinden kopmayan bir şehircilik anlayışı var ortada. Şehrin ortasında büyük bir millet bahçesi ve yaşam alanı bulunuyor. Bunları yapmak olağanüstü bir gayret ve başarının ürünüdür” ifadelerini kullandı.
